Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tsuki Furuta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tsuki Furuta has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rick Vasquez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rick Vasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tsuki Furuta! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Furuta pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Furuta keeps the fight on the outside. Furuta darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Vasquez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Furuta is working away from the top position though. Furuta missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Furuta looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vasquez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Vasquez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Furuta throwing shots but Vasquez is blocking nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vasquez regains full guard. Nicely done. Vasquez is trying to keep Furuta in close.
Furuta stays in close to Vasquez's body and controls the position. Vasquez wants to improve his position but instead Furuta has moved into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Furuta is taking a breather. Vasquez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Furuta takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Furuta sitting and controlling from the half guard. Vasquez is looking to control Furuta's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vasquez avoid being mounted? Furuta has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Vasquez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Furuta on the ground. Furuta seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Furuta working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Furuta is taking a breather. Vasquez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Vasquez is in trouble now - Furuta has advanced to mount! Furuta tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Vasquez just holding on. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Furuta lands a big shot to the head and Vasquez winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Tsuki Furuta! Our winner, Tsuki Furuta, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
