Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kenshin Yamamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinji Tanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tanaka has chosen Yuudachi as his entrance music. Kenshin Yamamoto could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Shinji Tanaka's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenshin Yamamoto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinji Tanaka! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Yamamoto misses. Tanaka shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yamamoto pinned against the cage. Yamamoto gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Yamamoto throws a hook but Tanaka blocks it. Yamamoto looks to land a left hand but Tanaka moved out of range nicely. Tanaka scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Yamamoto doesn't seem bothered though. Tanaka avoids the body shot from Yamamoto.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yamamoto throws a lazy right hand but Tanaka sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Tanaka bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Tanaka takes one on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yamamoto misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tanaka.
Tanaka swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Yamamoto throws an overhand right that lands on Tanaka's shoulder, as Tanaka tries to avoid the shot. Yamamoto avoids a kick to the body.
Yamamoto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Tanaka connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Yamamoto throws a hook to the side of Tanaka's head but Tanaka sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Yamamoto gets a takedown into half guard. Tanaka tries to roll over but Yamamoto keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yamamoto is figuring out what he wants to do next. Tanaka trying to hold on to Yamamoto's head to control him but Yamamoto postures up.
Yamamoto throwing shots but Tanaka is blocking nicely. Yamamoto is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tanaka doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Yamamoto. Tanaka tries to roll over but Yamamoto keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yamamoto thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Tanaka manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Yamamoto looking to pass the guard. Yamamoto preventing the sweep. Yamamoto trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Tanaka looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Tanaka wants to improve his position but instead Yamamoto has moved into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Yamamoto is looking for a kimura here.
Yamamoto throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Yamamoto has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Yamamoto is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tanaka to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tanaka shrugs it off. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tanaka is trying desperately to improve position. Yamamoto looking to finish Tanaka with some ground and pound. This is bad for Tanaka! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenshin Yamamoto dominated that round. That's time! Yamamoto's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Tanaka walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Tanaka keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Yamamoto. Tanaka fails with a takedown attempt. Yamamoto throws a hook but Tanaka avoids it easily. Yamamoto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Yamamoto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tanaka circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yamamoto misses the shot to the body. Yamamoto sizes up Tanaka with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Tanaka closes the distance and clinches up with Yamamoto, looking for a takedown. Tanaka pushes Yamamoto against the cage but Yamamoto circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Yamamoto stopping the sweep attempt from Tanaka. Yamamoto trying to control the position from guard on top but Tanaka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yamamoto throwing strikes from guard but Tanaka blocks nicely. Yamamoto is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tanaka can do to turn this around? Yamamoto is looking to work some ground and pound but Tanaka has wrist control. Tanaka is trying to keep Yamamoto in close.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Tanaka fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kenshin Yamamoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shinji Tanaka.

Tanaka misses with a takedown attempt - Yamamoto sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Tanaka fails to land the takedown. Tanaka stuffs the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Donk. Yamamoto catches Tanaka right on the button with a cross. Yamamoto throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tanaka wants to counter with a clinch but Yamamoto pushes him away. Tanaka fails with an attempt to clinch.
Yamamoto throws a body punch but Tanaka moves out of range. Tanaka slips under a jab from Yamamoto. Tanaka now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Yamamoto looks to land a right hand but Tanaka moved out of range. Yamamoto lands a right hook to the body.
Yamamoto misses with an uppercut. Tanaka saw that one coming. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tanaka's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Yamamoto connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Tanaka scrambles back to his feet. Tanaka looking to score a takedown here. Yamamoto is defending well but Tanaka drives through and ends up in Yamamoto's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tanaka manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Yamamoto on his heels. He'll look to pass Yamamoto's guard now, I'm sure. Yamamoto looking for a sweep. Not yet Yamamoto, not yet. Tanaka works a leg free and moves into half guard. Tanaka is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yamamoto is just riding it out for now. Tanaka eventually gives up the hold. Yamamoto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tanaka pulls his head out easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tanaka trying to pass the guard but Yamamoto defending well. Tanaka is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Yamamoto has managed to free his arm - good work.

Yamamoto gets full guard. Tanaka wants to pass the guard but Yamamoto is keeping the position. Yamamoto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tanaka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tanaka manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Yamamoto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tanaka defends well.

Yamamoto is looking for a sweep. Tanaka is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Tanaka uses his free foot to push down on Yamamoto's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Yamamoto. Yamamoto prevents Tanaka from taking his back. Tanaka keeps trying to improve his position. Yamamoto is squirming around, avoiding Tanaka's attempts to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yamamoto holds on for dear life. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Yamamoto is desperately trying to improve his position but Tanaka has a good base and remains in mount. Shinji Tanaka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Yamamoto slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Shinji Tanaka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Yamamoto has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
