Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cake scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Avery wants to control but Cake postures up.

Cake goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Avery has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cake but great work by Avery.

Cake really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Avery. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Avery has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Cake is on him like a limpet, forcing Avery back against the cage.

Cake has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Avery clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Avery trying to get back to his feet but Cake is in full control for now.

Cake is riding his opponent, not letting Avery buck him off.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cake shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Avery napping and manages to drive through into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Cake dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Cake lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Cake.


It looks like Lucien Avery has been cut.
Cake circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cake tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Avery closes the distance and clinches.
Avery is looking for a takedown.

Cake manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Cake has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Avery can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cake looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Cake has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Cake is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Avery defends well.
