Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Dejesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timothy Simons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Timothy Simons has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Dejesus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Timothy Simons!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Simons closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dejesus to the mat! Dejesus manages to get full guard.
Simons trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dejesus's guard.
Simons throws a big elbow that misses.
Simons is working Dejesus over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Simons sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Dejesus is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Simons jumps into side control!

Dejesus is trying to control Simons's posture but Simons avoids it.

Dejesus seems a little lost for a moment, as Simons dominates the positioning.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Simons pulls out of a head kick attempt.
It looked like Dejesus wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Simons leaves Dejesus with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Well Simons has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
