Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Opie River (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kanga Roos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). River kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Skillet - Monster . Opie River has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 2, fighting out of New York, Opie River! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kanga Roos! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! River avoids a punch combination nicely.
Roos looks to throw the jab but River is out of range. River swings for the body but Roos moves out of range.
River fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Roos manages to avoid it. River tried to score with a low kick but Roos checks it. Roos on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by River. River obviously looking to wear him down.
Roos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
River darts in and clinches Roos up against the cage. Roos wants to get back to striking at distance but River won't allow it.
River is leaning against Roos and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Roos wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roos blocks a body shot from River. River doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
River lands with a short punch from the clinch.
River is looking for a takedown. Roos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A jab from River does it's job there.
That's one minute gone in the round. River lands with a cross.
It looks like Kanga Roos has been cut. Roos misses with a wild combination.
Roos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by River. A jab from Roos misses. Roos walks into a straight right hand from River. Roos lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. River connects with a solid leg kick. River tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. River gets a double leg takedown into Roos's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Roos is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst River is controlling him. River stays in close to Roos's body and controls the position. River is working Roos over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. River cracks Roos with a solid left hand. River stands and throws Roos's legs to the side, diving into side control. Roos takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Roos is trying to improve his position. River works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Roos on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Roos tries to buck River off but River is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roos is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Roos wants to get back to his feet. River is looking to take a break and control but Roos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roos is not in a great position here, taking some shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roos takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
River lands an elbow. River scores with punches from side control. River in side control lands a decent elbow. Roos takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. River trying to control the action but Roos is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roos wants to get back to his feet. River working the ground and pound. Roos is trying to get back to half guard. River landing strikes. Roos is looking to reverse the position. Roos is trying to escape the position but River is controlling the position. River working the ground and pound from side control. River is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. River is chipping away with strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Opie River dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kanga Roos's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Roos scores with a one two! River had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Roos takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Roos tries to clinch but River is having none of it. River changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Roos takes one on the button.
Roos is rocked! Roos fails to land with a series of punches.
Roos is still on wobbly legs! Can River finish him? River drops Roos with a huge uppercut! Roos drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. River is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Opie River! Opie River really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that FinnFighter Nutrition (Five 160Q supps!) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
