Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Will Longwe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobby Kid!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longwe tries to clinch but Kid is having none of it.
Kid lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Longwe looking to score a takedown here. Kid is defending well but Longwe drives through and ends up in Kid's guard.
Longwe scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Longwe tries to free his leg and advance position but Kid is retaining full guard.
Longwe wants to control from the top but Kid keeps moving.
Longwe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kid swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kid wants to stand and escape but Longwe is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Longwe tries to free his leg and advance position but Kid is retaining full guard.
Longwe prevents Kid from getting back to his feet.
Longwe trying to control the position from guard on top but Kid is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kid lands a head kick!
Longwe is rocked!
Longwe shoots for a takedown but Kid saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Oh Longwe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kid throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Longwe crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Bobby Kid!
During a confident post fight interview, Bobby Kid thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
