Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Devlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Bosse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Devlin has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Devlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruno Bosse!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bosse lands a right hook to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Bosse gets control of Devlin's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bosse will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bosse looking to control.
Devlin distracts Bosse with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Devlin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Devlin throws a big elbow that misses.
Bosse is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bosse throwing shots but Devlin is blocking nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Devlin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Devlin is staying active underneath Bosse, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Bosse not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Devlin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bosse wants to take a breather but Devlin is having none of it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bosse circles away from the clinch attempt
and Bosse counters with a two punch combo.
A head kick misses from Bosse.
Devlin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Devlin. Those never looked like landing.

Devlin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bosse looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Devlin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Bosse is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Bosse wants to control but Devlin postures up.

Devlin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bosse sees it coming and defends easily.

Devlin is looking for submissions but instead, Bosse has regained full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Devlin is breathing heavily.

Bosse has his foot on Devlin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Devlin works his way back into a safe position though.
Devlin won't allow Bosse to get back to his feet.

Devlin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bosse manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Devlin has Bosse in his guard.

Bosse wanted to stand there but Devlin had control of the position.

Devlin is looking for a triangle here but Bosse uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Bosse is looking to take a break and control but Devlin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bosse slips nicely into half guard.
Bosse wants to take a breather but Devlin is having none of it.

Bosse is looking for a kimura but Devlin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bosse to get the leverage.

Devlin moves into range and clinches up with Bosse.
Devlin throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Devlin is trying to pull guard but Bosse turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Bosse has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Devlin uses from the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Devlin throws a right and a left that Bosse avoids nicely.
Bosse shoots in and drives through. Devlin sprawls well.
Devlin shoots in for a takedown but Bosse shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bosse dives in for a single leg takedown but Devlin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
No joy there for Devlin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Bosse is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bosse bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Devlin's guard.


Devlin has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bosse is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Devlin.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Bosse wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Devlin, who protects the arm well.

Bosse tries to close the distance and clinch but Devlin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bruce Devlin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruno Bosse.
Devlin shoots in looking for a takedown. Bosse tries to sprawl out of it but Devlin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bosse manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Devlin is working for a kimura but Bosse is defending it quite comfortably.

Bruno Bosse comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bosse has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
