Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Quin Kenobi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takachi Sakushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takachi Sakushi has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Quin Kenobi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Quin Kenobi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Takachi Sakushi!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sakushi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kenobi quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sakushi perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Sakushi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kenobi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sakushi.
Sakushi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kenobi's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kenobi is looking to improve his position.

Sakushi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Let's hope that Sakushi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Sakushi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kenobi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Sakushi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Kenobi wants to control but Sakushi is keeping busy.
Sakushi is taking a breather. Kenobi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Sakushi is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kenobi to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kenobi shrugs it off.
Sakushi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kenobi manages to regain half guard. Good work.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kenobi is fighting to break Sakushi's control of his arms but Sakushi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Quin Kenobi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kenobi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sakushi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kenobi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kenobi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sakushi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kenobi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kenobi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kenobi slips a nice elbow through Sakushi's hands, connecting with Sakushi's forehead.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters are battling for position here. Sakushi manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Quin Kenobi dominated that second round.
That's time! Kenobi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Kenobi stuffs the takedown attempt from Sakushi. Sakushi gets slowly back to his feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Sakushi or perhaps it was just good defense by Kenobi, which made it look bad.
Kenobi drops down looking for a counter takedown but Sakushi sprawls and moves away.
Sakushi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kenobi is fending him off so far but Sakushi persists. Nope, Kenobi circles away and we're back to standing.
Quin Kenobi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takachi Sakushi.

Kenobi closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sakushi's guard.

Kenobi is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Sakushi has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Kenobi is looking to defend but Sakushi has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Kenobi! Sakushi pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Kenobi taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Takachi Sakushi!
Takachi Sakushi was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
