The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boson misses with a kick to the body.
Masterson throws a head kick that misses.
Masterson ducks right into an uppercut from Boson.

Masterson scores with a takedown into Boson's guard.
Masterson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Boson keeping moving, preventing Masterson from controlling successfully.
Masterson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Masterson throws a big elbow that misses.
Boson working a defensive guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boson works Masterson's body with a nice hook.
Boson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Masterson was well out of range. Poor timing from Boson.
Boson scores with a jab to the jaw.
Boson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Masterson shoots in looking for a takedown. Boson tries to sprawl out of it but Masterson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Boson tried to score with a low kick but Masterson checks it.

Masterson gets a double leg takedown into Boson's guard.
Masterson is breathing heavily.

Masterson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Boson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Masterson is aware though and is defending well.
Boson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Masterson wants to control from the top but Boson keeps moving.

Masterson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Masterson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Masterson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Boson's head.
Boson wants to sweep but no luck.
Boson wants to stand up but Masterson is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Masterson.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Boson leaves Masterson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Boson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Masterson takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Boson's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
