Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Keke Ikonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scooby Doo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ikonen comes to the cage accompanied by Clint Mansell - Requiem for a Dream Remix. Keke Ikonen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Scooby Doo's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Scooby Doo!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Doo forces Ikonen back against the cage and clinches.
Ikonen looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Ikonen looking to stall.
Ikonen tries for a takedown but Doo manages to get underhooks.

Doo manages to pull guard.
Doo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ikonen works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Ikonen is looking for a kimura but Doo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ikonen to get the leverage.

Ikonen is looking for submissions but instead, Doo has regained full guard.
Doo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Doo throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Doo working for a triangle but Ikonen defends it easily.
Doo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Doo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Doo throws a sloppy head kick and Ikonen moves out of range easily.
Ikonen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Doo takes the fight into the clinch.
Doo is working for takedown but Ikonen is calmly controlling the position for now.

Doo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Doo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Doo throws a head kick but Ikonen moves out of range.

Doo clinches up with Ikonen and pushes him back against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Doo jumps into guard, dragging Ikonen to the mat.
Doo is pulling down on Ikonen's head. It's preventing any offense from Ikonen, at least for the moment.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Ikonen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Doo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ikonen throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Doo escapes and throws Ikonen's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Doo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ikonen hang on?

Doo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ikonen is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scooby Doo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Doo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Doo clinches.
Doo lands an elbow that stopped Ikonen in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Keke Ikonen has been cut.
Doo using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Doo pulls Ikonen into guard.
Doo wants to stand up but Ikonen is controlling him.
Doo wants to sweep but no luck.
Doo throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Doo wants to stand up but Ikonen is controlling him.
Doo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Ikonen looking to sit in guard and control but Doo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Doo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Doo stands and steps away. Ikonen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Doo tries for a takedown but Ikonen circles away easily

and Ikonen counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ikonen.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Doo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Ikonen kicks off Doo and gets to his feet.
Keke Ikonen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Doo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Doo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ikonen pulls his leg out and moves away.
Keke Ikonen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ikonen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ikonen laying and praying for a moment but Doo takes advantage and regains half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Scooby Doo.
Well Doo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
