Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Silva is trying to get back to full guard.
Silva is looking to control Machida's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted?
Machida is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Silva throws a strike from the bottom but Machida passes into side control!
Silva wants to control but Machida postures up.
Machida has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Silva is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Machida trying to control the action but Silva is working from the bottom.

Machida is working Silva over with some ground and pound from side control.
Silva tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Silva is not content to let Machida control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Machida tries to move to mount but Silva blocks the move with his legs.
Silva can't do much from the bottom here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Silva throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Machida stands up.
Silva wants to clinch.
Machida darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Machida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Machida is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Silva is trying to control but can't.
Silva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Machida is thwarting Silva's attempts to control the position.
Machida is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Silva wants to get back to full guard but Machida has mounted him!
Silva looks gassed!
Silva is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Silva is trying desperately to improve position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Machida tries to control but Silva wriggling away.
Machida is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Machida working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Silva is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Silva is in a horrible position here. Machida smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Machida controlling from the full mount.
A nice elbow there by Machida.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sena Machida dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Machida fails with a takedown attempt.
Silva stuffs the takedown.
Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Machida's guard.
Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Machida has wrist control.
Machida avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Silva being controlled here momentarily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Silva's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Machida manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Silva wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Machida is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Silva with him. Silva is trying to defend but Machida has an arm under the chin now! Silva grimaces and is forced to tap out!
