Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leonard Christopher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Pintos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Christopher comes into the arena with LA Beast Official Theme blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

19 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Leonard Christopher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, El Pintos! The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Ben Hemmingworth and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Christopher misses with a hook. Christopher scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Christopher doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Pintos throws a body punch but Christopher moves out of range. Pintos uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Christopher. Christopher walks into a stiff left hand from Pintos. A swing and a miss from Pintos. A little feinted left hand from Christopher on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Good standup being displayed there by Christopher as he connects with a hook. A combination from Christopher does no damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Christopher throws a hook but Pintos blocks it. The crowd cheers as Pintos lands an impressive looking overhand right. Christopher doesn't seem phased though. Christopher throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pintos sees it coming and avoids it easily. Pintos connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Christopher's hands. Christopher throws a body punch but Pintos moves out of range. Christopher throws a big shot that misses. Christopher doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Christopher slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Pintos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Christopher scrambles back to his feet. Pintos throws an overhand right that lands on Christopher's shoulder, as Christopher tries to avoid the shot. Pintos takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Christopher cracks Pintos with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
That has opened up El Pintos's cut even more. Christopher misses with a body shot.
Pintos dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Christopher. That did some damage! Christopher throws an off balance right hand
and Pintos counters with a nice uppercut. Christopher tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pintos was well out of range. Poor timing from Christopher. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pintos! But no joy. Christopher throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Christopher takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Christopher lands with a straight right. Pintos didn't see that one coming. Pintos slips a jab and a cross from Christopher.

Pintos nods at Christopher to acknowledge the strikes. Pintos scores with a nice head shot. Pintos throws a lazy right hand but Christopher sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A little feinted left hand from Christopher on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. A nice inside leg kick there by Pintos. That's going to slow Christopher down. Christopher throws out a loose jab but Pintos uses good head movement to avoid it. They are putting on a show! Pintos throws a jab when Christopher was well out of range. Pintos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Christopher walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Christopher is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Christopher lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Pintos fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Christopher looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Pintos gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Christopher. Pintos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Christopher misses the target. Pintos works the jab nicely. Pintos connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Christopher momentarily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Leonard Christopher will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on El Pintos's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Christopher has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Pintos misses with a looping right. Pintos cracks Christopher with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Christopher is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Pintos swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Pintos lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Christopher sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pintos scores with a jab. Pintos lands with a right hand. Pintos lands a big uppercut and Christopher crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Christopher looks OK. Pintos waves Christopher back to his feet!
Christopher is rocked! Pintos throws a lazy body kick and Christopher counters with a stiff right hand. Oh Christopher is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Pintos tests Christopher's chin there with a solid looking shot. Christopher takes a swing at Pintos's ribcage but misses. Left hook, right uppercut from Christopher. Christopher seems to have got his legs back now. Christopher looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Pintos throws out a powerful jab. Pintos swings and misses with a hook to the body.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Christopher might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Christopher misses with a series of wild punches.

And that's the end of the fight! El Pintos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pintos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
