Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Duncan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacob Smith! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duncan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but Duncan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Duncan looking to score a takedown here. Smith is defending well but Duncan drives through and ends up in Smith's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Duncan scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Smith working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Duncan. Duncan working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Duncan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Duncan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Duncan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Smith keeping moving, preventing Duncan from controlling successfully. Duncan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith wants to sweep here but Duncan controlling him for the moment. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Smith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Duncan's waist but Duncan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side. Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there. Duncan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Duncan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. It looks like Smith might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Smith distracts Duncan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Smith lands a couple of digs. Smith controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Duncan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Duncan's legs - danger averted. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smith wants to pass the guard but Duncan is keeping the position. Duncan looking to control.

Smith is nestled in close to Duncan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Smith lands a nice short elbow. Smith prevents Duncan from standing back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Duncan's temple. And that's the end of the fight! Jacob Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
