Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wes Barton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brent Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barton comes to the cage accompanied by Linchpin. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barton wants to clinch up but Carter keeps it at a distance.
Barton buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Barton shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Wes Barton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Barton lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Carter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barton paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Carter has closed the distance and engaged Barton in a clinch.
Carter misses with a hook to the ribs.

Barton pushes off an throws an elbow but Carter leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Wes Barton will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Brent Carter's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Carter has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Barton's face.
Carter throws some wild stikes that Barton manages to avoid easily.
Barton tries to hold on but Carter pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carter cracks Barton with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Carter loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Barton scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Carter land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Carter stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brent Carter!
