Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patches Meech (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meech has chosen shear it maybe as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Patches Meech will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

13 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patches Meech! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meech throws a right and a left that both miss. Kang darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kang throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Meech keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kang not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Meech keeps working. Kang not landing any meaningful shots this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kang thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Meech's head. Kang sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Meech defending well though. That's two minutes gone in the round. Kang closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kang has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kang looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Kang wants to take a breather but Meech is having none of it. Kang working Meech over with strikes. Kang seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Meech avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kang. Meech taking some punishment here, with Kang in his half guard. Kang passes to full mount! Meech is squirming around, avoiding Kang's attempts to control the action. Kang lands a nice shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meech avoids a series of strikes thrown by Kang.

Kang shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Meech's guard. Kang prevents Meech from getting back to his feet. Kang loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kang sitting in guard, not really doing much. Kang stands up over Meech, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kang throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kang is in close to Meech's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Kang is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Meech is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Meech avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kang keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Meech's head. Meech preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kang scoring with punches to the head and body. Kang in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kang works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kang stalling. Kang missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kang keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Kang throws a strike but Meech avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Kang throws a big elbow that misses. Meech is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kang is controlling him.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kang looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Excellent takedown into side control there by Kang.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kang advances to mount. Kang cracks Meech with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Kang working away from the top, dropping strikes. Kang putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Nick Kang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kang landing strikes, looking to finish! Kang scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Meech is rocked! Kang drops a big elbow. That's hurt Meech! More shots from Kang and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
