Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joey Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, William Bernard! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bernard manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Bernard fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Williams looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Nice sprawl there from Williams as Bernard shoots in. Williams thows a left - swing and a miss! Bernard showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Williams.
Williams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bernard. Williams throws a wild combination but nothing lands. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bernard paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bernard throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Williams counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Bernard! Bernard is trying to work for a sweep but Williams has mounted him! Bernard is trying desperately to improve position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bernard regains half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bernard actively working from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams winds up and cracks Bernard with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bernard is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Williams jumps into side control! Williams working the ground and pound. Williams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Williams is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bernard knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bernard tries to buck Williams off but Williams is having none of it. Williams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bernard striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams decides to stand back up. Williams steps back and let's Bernard get back to his feet. Bernard fails with the takedown. Joey Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Bernard. Williams throws a series of punches but Bernard moves out of range. As Williams backs off Bernard throws a huge counter combo but Williams manages to avoid it all. Bernard avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Williams shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Bernard is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ground and pound from Williams. Williams is working for a kimura but Bernard is defending it quite comfortably.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Williams looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Williams working over Bernard with some ground and pound. Bernard looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Bernard throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Williams manages to pass to side control. Bernard is working to avoid the ground and pound but Williams connects with a decent elbow. Bernard is looking for a sweep. Bernard looks to move to half guard but instead Williams has passed into mount! Damn! Bernard is looking to get to half guard. Williams jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bernard manages to avoid the submission attempt. Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bernard swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Bernard doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Williams counter with a right hand. Bernard fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Williams was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Bernard shoots for a takedown but Williams saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Joey Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Bernard. Bernard keeps the fight on the outside. Bernard takes the fight into the clinch. Bernard letting Williams take a breather here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams wants to break the clinch but can't.

Bernard is trying to pull guard but Williams turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Bernard as Williams tries to tie him up. Williams keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bernard's efforts to push away. Bernard jumps guard but Williams stands there with Bernard around his waist. Bernard gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bernard gets control of Williams's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bernard will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Bernard tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bernard manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.

Is there anything that Bernard can do to turn this around? Williams scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Williams cracks Bernard with a solid left hand. Williams stands up over Bernard, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Bernard is looking for a triangle but Williams pushes his legs off easily.

Williams thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Williams tries for a kimura but Bernard is defending well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bernard manages to get back to half guard. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Williams scoring with punches to the head and body. Williams makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Williams. Williams is pulling down on Bernard's head. It's preventing any offense from Bernard, at least for the moment. William Bernard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Williams utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! William Bernard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Williams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
