Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tad Shepherd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tad Shepherd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Hall!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall misses with a head kick.
Hall tries for a takedown but Shepherd sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Shepherd throws a series of strikes that have Hall backpedaling.

Hall gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hall is looking to break free of the clinch but Shepherd has double underhooks.

Hall is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Shepherd can't fight it off and eventually Hall manages to take the fight to the floor. Shepherd looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shepherd swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hall passes Shepherd's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Shepherd is looking for a sweep. Hall is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Shepherd trying to control but Hall postures up.
Shepherd desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Hall is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Hall thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Shepherd is trying to get back to full guard.
Hall is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Hall takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Hall misses with a head shot. Shepherd uses the momentum to regain guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hall is working Shepherd over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Shepherd is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hall works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Hall working the head and body with strikes.
Hall seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Shepherd gets full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Shepherd looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Hall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hall distracts Shepherd with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hall scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Shepherd pulls Hall in to control the position.

Hall decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Hall misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Shepherd has Hall up against the cage in a clinch.
Hall drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Shepherd gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Tad Shepherd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Hall.
Hall looks winded!
Shepherd throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hall blocks it with crossed arms.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hall wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Shepherd has him pressed against the cage.
Hall is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Shepherd to keep the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Hall dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hall fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shepherd avoids it really well and circles away.
Shepherd went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Hall moves into range and clinches up with Shepherd.
Hall tries to circle away but Shepherd has him pinned against the cage.
Shepherd has Hall pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hall manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Shepherd jumps guard but Hall stands there with Shepherd around his waist. Shepherd gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hall decides to pull guard.
Shepherd lands a couple of digs.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hall escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shepherd gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Shepherd is working Hall over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hall working for a triangle but Shepherd defends it easily.

Hall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hall is breathing heavily.

Hall looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Shepherd passes into side control.
Shepherd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Shepherd landing a few strikes.
Shepherd postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Hall is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Shepherd looking for a submission but Hall manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Shepherd throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hall works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hall preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shepherd won't allow Hall to sweep him here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Hall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Shepherd's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Shepherd duly obliges.

Shepherd drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hall is looking for a triangle but Shepherd pushes his legs off easily.

Shepherd keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hall's efforts to push away.

A frustrated look appears on Hall's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Shepherd is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hall gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Shepherd wants a takedown but no success here.

Hall successfully pulls guard.
Shepherd in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hall trying to keep a closed guard but Shepherd is proving a slippery customer.
Hall is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Hall looking for a sweep. Not yet Hall, not yet.
Shepherd postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hall looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Shepherd puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Ben Hall is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Shepherd moves into the clinch.

Shepherd gets control of Hall's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shepherd will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Hall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shepherd swivels though and keeps the full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tad Shepherd showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Hall has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
