Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zane Maldonado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naruto Uzumaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Naruto Uzumaki has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Zane Maldonado's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Uzumaki rushes Maldonado and presses him up against the cage.
Maldonado misses with a knee to the head.
Maldonado tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Uzumaki stalls.
Uzumaki scores with a hook to the body.

Maldonado drags the fight down to the ground.
Uzumaki is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Maldonado wants to control but Uzumaki passes easily into half guard.

Uzumaki is trying to trip Maldonado. He has hold of a leg but Maldonado is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Uzumaki persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Uzumaki wants to stand but Maldonado has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Uzumaki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maldonado swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Maldonado has Uzumaki pulled in close to control his posture.

Maldonado wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Uzumaki bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Uzumaki has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Uzumaki throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Maldonado escapes and throws Uzumaki's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Uzumaki is trying to work for a sweep but Maldonado has mounted him!
Uzumaki tries to control Maldonado's body but Maldonado pushes him off. Uzumaki squirms to his side and now Maldonado has his back!

Maldonado will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Maldonado is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Uzumaki has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Maldonado has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Uzumaki taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Maldonado doesn't care though - he's delighted!
