Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sung Sloan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Jones has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sung Sloan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sung Sloan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sloan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jones.
Sloan appears to be looking for a big counter.
Jones tries to clinch but Sloan is having none of it.
Sloan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sloan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sloan tries a head kick but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloan throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
Despite the aggression on Jones's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sloan as he avoids it easily.

Jones gets tackled into the cage by Sloan. Sloan maintains the clinch.
Jones lands an elbow that stopped Sloan in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Sung Sloan has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Sloan fails to pull guard.

Sloan has picked Jones up - he's going for a ride! Sloan dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Jones slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sloan is aware though and is defending well.
Jones is trying to hold Sloan in close to prevent damage but Sloan has managed to pass into half guard.
Sloan tries to stand but can't do so whilst Jones controls his leg.

Jones has a hand on Sloan's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Sloan takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Jones tries to hold on but Sloan postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones tries to control the position but Sloan now has his back.
Sloan cracks Jones with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Jones from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Jones is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Sloan avoiding Jones 's attempts to control his hands.
Sloan controlling well, preventing Jones from escaping the position.
Jones trying to control the action but Sloan just sinks the hooks in.
Jones trying to get back to his feet but Sloan is in full control for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sloan working for a choke but Jones is defending well.
The referee is taking a good look at Jones as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Sloan!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sloan is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Jones is defending well though. Sloan let's go of the attempt for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jones feints a jab promting Sloan to slip. Jones then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Sloan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Sloan gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jones looking to stall.
Sloan goes for a takedown attempt but Jones pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Sloan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones jumps guard.

Sloan gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting.

Jones lands a slapping body shot.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Sloan circles away.
Sloan swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.

Sloan has clasped his hands together around Jones's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Sloan is dominant here and he's now got Jones's back!

Sloan looking to break Jones's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Jones remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Sloan will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Sung Sloan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sloan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around?
Jones breaks Sloan's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Sloan throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Jones escapes and throws Sloan's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Jones decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sloan to his feet.

Jones rushes Sloan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sloan misses with a hook from the clinch.
Sloan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jones walks away with a smile on his face. Sloan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sloan can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sung Sloan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sloan manages to break the clinch.

Sloan closes the distance and clinches.
Sloan is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Sloan pushes off an throws an elbow but Jones leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Sloan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sung Sloan will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Sloan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jones to the ground. Sloan is now in Jones's guard.

Sloan stands up and waves to Jones to follow him.

Sloan has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment.

A frustrated look appears on Sloan's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Sloan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Sloan closes the distance and clinches.
Jon Jones seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Sloan is looking to take this one to the mat.
Sloan tries for a takedown. No joy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jones will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Sloan up against the cage.
Sloan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Sloan, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Sloan against the cage but Sloan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sloan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sloan decides to stand back up. Sloan steps back and let's Jones get back to his feet.
Jones tries to clinch but Sloan moves out of range.
Sloan is looking for a counter combo.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Sloan tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sloan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sloan misses with a head kick.

Jones closes the distance and pushes Sloan back into the cage.
Jones using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sloan has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Jones has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sloan uses from the top position.
Jones controls Sloan momentarily but Sloan frees himself.

Sloan stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Jones has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jones tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sloan avoids it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jones landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Jones prevents the takedown attempt.
Jon Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sung Sloan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jones throws a knee to the head but misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sung Sloan.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sloan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
