Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ian McCall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marius Van Der Pooji!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Der Pooji with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McCall to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Marius Van Der Pooji has been cut.
McCall throws a series of punches but Van Der Pooji avoids them all with ease.
Van Der Pooji tries to counter by closing the distance.
Van Der Pooji takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Van Der Pooji takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
McCall definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McCall rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Van Der Pooji moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McCall fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Van Der Pooji looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
McCall misses with a double jab
and Van Der Pooji counters by moving into the clinch.
McCall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by McCall!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McCall drops Van Der Pooji with a beautiful combination! Van Der Pooji stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - McCall is looking for the KO!
Van Der Pooji is rocked!
McCall moves into the clinch.
Van Der Pooji is still on wobbly legs! Can McCall finish him?
The referee is keeping an eye on McCall - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
McCall creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Van Der Pooji's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Van Der Pooji drops to his knees and McCall pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ian McCall!
