The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kowalski .

Skaggs closes the distance and clinches.
Kowalski misses with some punches.
Kowalski working aggressively here.
Kowalski has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kowalski wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kowalski tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kowalski tries to work over Skaggs's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Kowalski has a couple of punches blocked by Skaggs.

Skaggs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kowalski lands a head kick!
Nice sprawl there from Kowalski as Skaggs shoots in.
Kowalski fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Skaggs.

Skaggs shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kowalski napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kowalski wants to control but Skaggs postures up.

Skaggs is chipping away with strikes.

Skaggs lands a big shot there that rocks Kowalski but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
