The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatmaitan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Minister sprawls well. Minister wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gatmaitan gets slowly back to his feet.
Minister has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Minister throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gatmaitan misses with an uppercut. Minister saw that one coming.
Gatmaitan misses the shot to the body.

Minister gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Gatmaitan swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Minister misses with an elbow strike.
Minister blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Minister lands with a shot to the body.
Gatmaitan throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Gatmaitan is breathing heavily.
Minister swings for the body but Gatmaitan moves out of range.
Minister throws a right and a left that both miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gatmaitan pivots, looking for a leg kick but Minister is out of range and Gatmaitan settles back down.
Minister scores with a jab to the jaw.

It looks like Lapu Gatmaitan has been cut.
Minister misses with a body kick.
Gatmaitan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Minister thumps Gatmaitan with a low kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gatmaitan avoids the body shot from Minister.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gatmaitan is defended easily by Minister.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gatmaitan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Minister tries to avoid it but Gatmaitan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Minister to the ground. Minister escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lapu Gatmaitan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gatmaitan moves away from the strike by Minister.
Minister stuffs the takedown.
Gatmaitan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Gatmaitan takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Minister lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Gatmaitan is rocked!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Minister engages and cracks Gatmaitan with a massive lead left hook - Gatmaitan tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Minister is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
