Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alfred Borden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Greg Porrieste!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Porrieste comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Porrieste shoots in but no luck this time.
Porrieste connects with a high kick.
Porrieste has a takedown stuffed.
Porrieste tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Porrieste tries to clinch up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Borden.

Borden wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Porrieste, who protects the arm well.

Borden thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Borden tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Borden has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Porrieste tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Borden is trying to get an arm triangle but Porrieste is defending well.
Porrieste tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Borden wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Borden tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Borden has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Porrieste can't do much from the bottom here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Borden has hold of Porrieste's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Porrieste seems comfortable defending it but Borden has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Porrieste is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Porrieste is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Borden couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Alfred Borden!
