Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Keneth Daniel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Brooka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keneth Daniel has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keneth Daniel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Brooka!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brooka throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Daniel was covering up waiting for the punch and Brooka finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brooka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Daniel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brooka controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Brooka content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Daniel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daniel has momentary wrist control but Brooka slips an elbow through the middle.

Daniel is working an open guard so Brooka takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Brooka shoots in and bounces Daniel off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Brooka stands up out of the half guard.

Brooka darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brooka stands up and beckons Daniel to join him on the feet.
Keneth Daniel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brooka avoids the head kick by Daniel.
Daniel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Brooka.
Daniel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Brooka drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Brooka is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Brooka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Daniel preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Brooka wants to control from the top but Daniel keeps moving.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Daniel is working an open guard so Brooka takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Brooka gets control of Daniel's arms and successfully pulls guard. Brooka will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Brooka has his hands on Daniel's head, controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brooka wants to sweep but no luck.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brooka is on top in guard.

Brooka connects with a couple of short punches.
Daniel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Brooka postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Daniel to stand up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Brooka is fighting off a takedown attempt but Daniel is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Brooka to the mat. Brooka regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Daniel will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Brooka is adopting a defensive guard.
Brooka manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Daniel manages to get himself to full guard.


Brooka drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Daniel dives on top into guard.

Brooka is looking for a triangle here but Daniel uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Brooka sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Brooka kicks Daniel off and gets back to his feet.

Brooka shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Daniel's guard.
Brooka wants to control from the top but Daniel keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brooka accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brooka drops back, looking for a kneebar! Daniel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Daniel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Daniel!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Brooka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Brooka fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Daniel to the ground. Brooka is now in Daniel's guard.
Brooka passes Daniel's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Brooka performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Brooka decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Steve Brooka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brooka is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Daniel's half guard.

Brooka wants to take a breather but Daniel is having none of it.
Daniel avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Brooka.
Brooka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Daniel keeps working.

Brooka is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Daniel still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Daniel has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
You can see the frustration on Brooka's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Daniel has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Keneth Daniel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Brooka closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Daniel to the mat! Daniel manages to get full guard.

Brooka is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Brooka stands and steps away. Daniel gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Brooka shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Daniel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Brooka decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Daniel, up you get!
Brooka moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


Daniel is rocked!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Brooka, right into the meat.
Oh Daniel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Brooka takes the fight into the clinch.

Brooka ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Brooka no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Daniel seems to have got his legs back now.

Brooka takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Steve Brooka is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Brooka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
