Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Belyx! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Eirik Rivfader! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rivfader rushes Belyx and presses him up against the cage. Belyx is trying to break the clinch but Rivfader is controlling him. Belyx throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Belyx fails to pull guard.
Rivfader gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Belyx.
A frustrated look appears on Belyx's face as he tries to break the clinch. Belyx misses with an elbow strike.
Rivfader lands a hook that snaps the head of Belyx backwards.
It looks like Max Belyx has been cut. Belyx tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rivfader just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Belyx. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rivfader works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rivfader looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Belyx has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Rivfader has passed into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rivfader decides to take the fight back to the feet. Belyx takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Belyx has managed to clinch.
Rivfader successfully pulls guard.
Rivfader pushes Belyx off and gets back to his feet.
Rivfader drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rivfader scoring with punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Belyx seems a little lost for a moment, as Rivfader dominates the positioning. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Belyx is looking for a sweep. Rivfader lands a nice forearm strike. Belyx on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Belyx tries to get out of the position. Rivfader controls the position. Rivfader advances to full mount. Rivfader is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Max Belyx's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Max Belyx's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
