PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Cobra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anselmo Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, King Cobra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anselmo Harris!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cobra moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Harris tries to clinch up.

Harris clinches up against the cage.
Cobra lands a hook that snaps the head of Harris backwards.
Harris tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cobra smiles and moves away.
Harris keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Cobra will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Cobra misses with a low kick.
Harris tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cobra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cobra throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Cobra scores with a nice body kick.
Harris doesn't manage to clinch there - Cobra circles away.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Harris has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Cobra throws a front kick aimed at Harris's knee but Harris avoids it well.
Cobra throws a leg kick but Harris sees it coming and moves out of range.
Cobra takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Cobra wants to slow Harris down by chopping away at his legs.
Harris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cobra looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Harris fails in his attempt to clinch.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Harris.
King Cobra is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cobra slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Cobra throws a head kick that misses.
Cobra swats away the attempt to clinch by Harris.
Cobra throws out a loose jab but Harris uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cobra rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Harris counters with a two punch combo.
Cobra is looking to slow Harris down with leg kicks.
Cobra lands with a nice body kick.
Nice shot by Cobra.
Cobra throws a leg kick but Harris moved away.
Cobra misses with a hook

and Harris counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Harris.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Harris is looking to take this one to the mat.
King Cobra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anselmo Harris.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Cobra.

Harris stalling the fight.
Harris tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cobra's elbow.
Cobra lands a left hand that snaps the head of Harris backwards.

Harris fails to pull guard.
Harris fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Harris lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Cobra backwards.
Harris slowing the pace effectively.
Harris misses with a hook to the ribs.

Harris has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cobra uses from the top position.

Harris is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Harris manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cobra manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Harris is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cobra swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cobra looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Harris passes into half guard.
Cobra is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harris passes the guard and advances to mount!
Harris has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cobra's face.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Harris has control of Cobra's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Cobra regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Cobra knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harris on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Harris prevents Cobra from getting the reversal.
Harris lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Harris trying to control but Cobra is having none of it.
Cobra wants to hold on but Harris pushes him away.
Harris controlling from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anselmo Harris dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Harris wants to counter with a clinch but Cobra pushes him away.
Harris tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cobra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Harris is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cobra sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Harris is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Cobra misses with a leg kick
and Harris counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Harris rushes Cobra and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cobra lands a right hand that snaps the head of Harris backwards.
Cobra struggles to land a body shot inside as Harris controls his hands.
Harris wants to stall.
Harris stalling in the clinch but Cobra improves position.
Cobra is trying to break the clinch but Harris is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Harris has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cobra uses from the top position.
Cobra tries to free his leg and advance position but Harris is retaining full guard.
Cobra is working hard here to advance position.

Cobra sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Harris's guard.
Cobra is looking to take a break and control but Harris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harris is pressing down on Cobra's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Harris looking for a triangle here. Cobra is fighting it but it looks tight! Harris pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Cobra is tapping out - this one is all over!
