Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Odell Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Szymon Jablonski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Szymon Jablonski has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Odell Ryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Szymon Jablonski!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryan has closed the distance and engaged Jablonski in a clinch.
Ryan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ryan is trying to force a seperation but Jablonski has the dominant position.
Ryan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Ryan lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jablonski backwards.
Jablonski looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Ryan wants to get back to striking at distance but Jablonski won't allow it.
Jablonski is trying to pull guard but Ryan turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Jablonski is trying to pull guard but Ryan has him pressed against the cage.
Ryan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jablonski blocks it with crossed arms.
Jablonski jumps guard but Ryan stands there with Jablonski around his waist. Jablonski gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Odell Ryan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Szymon Jablonski.

Ryan manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Ryan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jablonski, up you get!

Ryan throws a punch but it's blocked by Jablonski.
Ryan wants to get back to striking at distance but Jablonski won't allow it.

Ryan is trying to force a seperation but Jablonski has the dominant position.
Jablonski fails to pull guard.
Ryan tries to land knees in the clinch but Jablonski avoids the damage to the body.
Ryan really is a fat lump.
Ryan is trying to break the clinch but Jablonski has him pressed against the cage.
Ryan has Jablonski pressed against the cage, preventing Jablonski from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Ryan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jablonski.
Jablonski prevents Ryan from breaking the clinch.
Ryan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jablonski has him pressed against the cage.
Jablonski tries to pull guard but Ryan won't allow it.
Ryan wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ryan has had enough of the clinch but Jablonski keeps him there for the moment.
Jablonski keeps control of Ryan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Ryan is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Jablonski keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ryan's efforts to push away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ryan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Ryan tries to circle away but Jablonski has him pinned against the cage.

Jablonski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ryan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ryan tries to close the distance and clinch but Jablonski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jablonski doesn't manage to clinch there - Ryan circles away.
Jablonski misses with a double jab

and Ryan counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jablonski!

Ryan stands up and beckons Jablonski to his feet.

Ryan shoots in and gets a takedown into Jablonski's guard.

Ryan stands and steps away. Jablonski gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Jablonski avoids the body shot from Ryan.

Ryan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jablonski's guard.
Ryan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Ryan stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Ryan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jablonski was covering up waiting for the punch and Ryan finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ryan is stalling in the full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ryan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Ryan drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jablonski being controlled here, momentarily.
Ryan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Ryan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jablonski is trying to defend but Ryan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Ryan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Ryan wants to stand but Jablonski has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Jablonski has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ryan is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ryan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Ryan fails with a takedown attempt.
Jablonski throws a series of strikes that have Ryan backpedaling.

Jablonski throws a head kick that misses.
Ryan circles away from the clinch attempt.

Ryan gets a takedown into half guard.
Ryan not doing much here.
It looks like Ryan is going to stand back up.
Ryan controlling the action here.
Ryan wants to get back to his feet.
Ryan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jablonski can do to turn this around?

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Ryan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Ryan is working for a submission of some sort.
Ryan tries to stand and escape but Jablonski is controlling the position.
Jablonski is looking to get back to is feet but Ryan passes into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ryan decides to stand back up. Ryan steps back and let's Jablonski get back to his feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Ryan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ryan in particular looking to stall.
Ryan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jablonski for as long as he can get away with.

Ryan decides to stand up.
Jablonski misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Ryan counters with a takedown into side control.
Jablonski tries to bench press Ryan off him but Ryan keeps the position.

Ryan decides to stand back up. Ryan steps back and let's Jablonski get back to his feet.

Ryan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jablonski napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ryan controls the position.
Jablonski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Ryan stands up and we're back to a striking position.

A head kick by Jablonski misses

and Ryan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jablonski won't be happy with that.

You can see the frustration on Jablonski's face as Ryan controls the position.
Jablonski is trying to buck Ryan off.

The referee asks Ryan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ryan prefers to stall for the moment though.
We've been informed that Jablonski has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Ryan decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Jablonski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ryan.

Ryan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Ryan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ryan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Ryan looks up at the clock and then as Jablonski takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ryan smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Ryan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Ryan stands up.

Ryan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ryan lands in his opponent's guard.

Jablonski is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ryan is aware though and is defending well.

Odell Ryan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jablonski is working an open guard so Ryan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ryan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
