The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Technique fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Technique drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Technique jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bodman seems keen to control Technique's posture.
Technique stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bodman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bodman is on top in guard.

Technique had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bodman is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Technique Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bodman's back instead.
Technique is trying to stick to Bodman's back but Bodman is turning into Technique. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Technique's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bodman.

Bodman is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Technique is trying to escape and Bodman transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Technique is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bodman! Very nice indeed!
