Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Coryatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coryatt comes into the arena with Welcome 2 Houston blaring out of the sound system. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kevin Coryatt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Rodrigo Silva ! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coryatt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Coryatt wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. Silva doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Coryatt sitting in guard, not really doing much. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coryatt lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Coryatt controlling from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva wants to stand up but Coryatt is controlling him. Coryatt trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Coryatt tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Silva defends well and Coryatt ends up having to push Silva into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Coryatt moves into the clinch successfully.

Coryatt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Silva sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Coryatt somewhat. Coryatt closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coryatt lands a shoulder strike. Coryatt with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Coryatt lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Rodrigo Silva has been cut. Coryatt digs a right hand into Silva 's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Silva 's gas tank. A quick uppercut on the inside from Coryatt. Silva tries a knee to the head but Coryatt blocks it.
Silva tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Coryatt avoids it. Silva working hard to break the clinch. Silva wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Silva lands a shot to the body. Coryatt looking to throw knees to the head but Silva is blocking nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Coryatt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Coryatt lands with a nice combination. Silva backs away looking to recover. Coryatt tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Silva defends well and Coryatt ends up having to push Silva into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Coryatt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Coryatt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively. Coryatt fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Silva to the ground. Coryatt is now in Silva 's guard. Coryatt showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Silva is trying to keep Coryatt in close.
Coryatt wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position. Coryatt advances to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva is trying to stand up here but Coryatt is controlling him well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva is refusing to be controlled, as Coryatt sits in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Coryatt is defended easily by Silva . And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevin Coryatt dominated that round. The cut man is working on Rodrigo Silva 's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Coryatt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Coryatt is working Silva over with some ground and pound from side control. Coryatt just content to control the position. Coryatt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silva can do to turn this around? Coryatt looking to control but instead Silva has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Coryatt takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Silva has hold of Coryatt's hands but Coryatt slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coryatt throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Silva to regain full guard. Coryatt looking to pass the guard. Kevin Coryatt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Coryatt pushing down on Silva 's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Coryatt throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Coryatt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working. Coryatt working the head and body with strikes. Coryatt looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coryatt scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Silva wants to control but Coryatt is keeping busy and won't allow it. Coryatt performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Silva is holding on to half guard well.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Coryatt looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. The fight stays on the outside here - Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Coryatt scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Silva takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Silva sneaks back into half guard. Silva avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Coryatt. Coryatt wants to pass the guard but Silva is defending well. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Coryatt is trying to control. Silva wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Coryatt seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coryatt is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Silva reverses the position - he's now on top in Coryatt's guard. Coryatt is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Coryatt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kevin Coryatt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Coryatt, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Silva keeping moving, preventing Coryatt from controlling successfully. Coryatt trying to move into half guard but instead Silva has managed to sweep!

Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Coryatt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Coryatt throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Silva tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Coryatt is in Silva 's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coryatt wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. Silva wants to control the position but Coryatt says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Coryatt wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy. Silva avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Coryatt. Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Coryatt is working away from the top position though. Coryatt tries to pass the half guard into mount. Silva knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Silva is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Coryatt gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Coryatt stalls. Coryatt manages to pull guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Coryatt manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Silva is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Rodrigo Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Silva is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Coryatt gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Kevin Coryatt showed his dominance in that final round. Well Coryatt has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
