Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bill Dobbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Durant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard Durant will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bill Dobbins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Richard Durant!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Durant gets a takedown into half guard.
Dobbins is looking for a sweep. Durant is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dobbins is not content to let Durant control the position.
Durant tries to pass to full mount but Dobbins defends it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Durant looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dobbins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Dobbins on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dobbins tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Durant shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Durant showed some decent athleticism there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dobbins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Durant's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Durant's back!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Durant stands up over Dobbins, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Durant stuffs the takedown attempt from Dobbins. Dobbins gets slowly back to his feet.
Durant fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dobbins avoids it really well and circles away.

Durant shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Durant thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dobbins's head.

Durant keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dobbins's head.
Durant wants to control from the top but Dobbins keeps moving.

Dobbins is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Durant dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Durant shoots in looking for a takedown. Dobbins tries to sprawl out of it but Durant keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dobbins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Durant, as that shot connected.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dobbins misses with a hook. Durant ducked under it nicely.
Richard Durant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Durant throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dobbins's waist but Dobbins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Durant off to one side.
Dobbins attempts a counter takedown but Durant avoids it well and moves away.
Bill Dobbins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Durant.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Durant.
Durant shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dobbins sprawls well. Dobbins wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Durant gets slowly back to his feet.
Durant darts in looking for a takedown but Dobbins gets double underhooks and turns Durant into the cage.
Dobbins half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
No luck for Durant with that takedown attempt.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Durant is defended easily by Dobbins.
Durant has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Durant lands a nice short elbow.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Richard Durant showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Dobbins is looking to advance position but Durant has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Durant postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dobbins looks a forlorn figure.
Durant unloads with some shots from mount but Dobbins bucks and avoids them well.
Durant has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dobbins's face.

Dobbins is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Durant is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dobbins can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Durant lands a couple of good shots and Dobbins has given up his back, trying to escape the position!


Dobbins is rocked!
Durant is working the ground and pound. Can Dobbins escape?
Oh Dobbins is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Durant cracks Dobbins with a big right hand from the back mount! Dobbins immediately covers up and the referee dives in to save him under a barrage of more strikes! Durant takes this one by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richard Durant!
