Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tsuki Furuta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zero Boxe! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boxe connects with a jab.
It looks like Tsuki Furuta has been cut. Furuta misses with a two punch combination.
Furuta changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boxe tries to avoid it but Furuta manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boxe to the ground. Boxe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Boxe lands a left and a right that send Furuta crashing to the mat, dazed. Boxe thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Furuta is rocked! Boxe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Furuta is fending him off so far but Boxe persists. Nope, Furuta circles away and we're back to standing. Oh Furuta is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Boxe tries to clinch but Furuta is having none of it. Furuta seems to have got his legs back now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Furuta has closed the distance and engaged Boxe in a clinch.
Furuta stalling in the clinch but Boxe improves position. Boxe wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Furuta is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Boxe is defending well. Furuta successfully pulls guard.
Furuta is pulling down on Boxe's head to control his posture. Boxe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Boxe trying to control the position from guard on top but Furuta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boxe throwing strikes from guard but Furuta blocks nicely. Furuta wants to stand up but Boxe is controlling him. Boxe trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Boxe wants to stand but Furuta has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Boxe sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Furuta doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Boxe paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Furuta - great work!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tsuki Furuta! After winning the bout, Tsuki Furuta thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
