PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arnaldo Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duncan Isis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carvalho comes to the cage accompanied by Led Zeppelin - Kashmir. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Carvalho duly obliges.

It looks like Duncan Isis has been cut.
Isis has a takedown stuffed.
Duncan Isis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Isis swats away the attempt to clinch by Carvalho.

Isis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Carvalho was covering up waiting for the punch and Isis finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carvalho has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Isis is working away from the top position though.

Isis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carvalho doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Isis.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Isis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carvalho defends it well.

That was a close round but I would say that Arnaldo Carvalho will probably get the nod.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carvalho lands a jab-cross combination.
Carvalho scores with a hook to the body. Isis takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Carvalho lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Carvalho is looking to score with low kicks.
Carvalho is looking to clinch but Isis is avoiding it.

Isis tries to bum rush Carvalho with a series of wild strikes but Carvalho uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Carvalho closes the distance and clinches up with Isis, looking for a takedown. Carvalho pushes Isis against the cage but Isis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Isis throws out a counter right but Carvalho avoids it with no problem.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
