Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Remy LeBeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Howlett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Howlett has chosen X-Men Theme Music as his entrance music. Remy LeBeau had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Remy LeBeau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Howlett!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from LeBeau does no damage.
Howlett has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
LeBeau throws a combination. Howlett tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like James Howlett has been cut.
Howlett lands a nice looking body shot.
LeBeau avoids the body shot from Howlett.
LeBeau throws a poor cross that misses
and LeBeau takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
LeBeau fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice defenses there by Howlett.
Howlett swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Howlett moves away from the strike by LeBeau.
LeBeau lands a really nice looking cross but Howlett seems unphased.
Howlett is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

LeBeau looks to land a left hand but Howlett moved out of range nicely.

and Howlett counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

LeBeau will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

LeBeau displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Howlett throws out the jab.

Howlett throws a blind hook that connects with the side of LeBeaus head.

LeBeau's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

It looks like Remy LeBeau has been cut.
Howlett tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but LeBeau was well out of range. Poor timing from Howlett.

LeBeau throws a left that rocks Howlett and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! LeBeau dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Howlett regain composure!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

LeBeau is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Howlett is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Howlett is looking for a sweep.
LeBeau tries to advance position but instead Howlett slips a leg back in to half guard.

Howlett is staying active underneath LeBeau, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
LeBeau is really struggling to control Howlett but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We've been hearing good reports from LeBeau's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

LeBeau is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Howlett is just riding it out for now. LeBeau eventually gives up the hold.

Howlett stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
LeBeau misses with a double jab.

LeBeau takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
LeBeau has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
LeBeau looks to throw the jab but Howlett is out of range.

LeBeau throws a looping overhand right but Howlett ducks down to avoid it.
LeBeau rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Howlett moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Howlett misses with a hook. LeBeau ducked under it nicely.
LeBeau went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
LeBeau throws a lazy right hand but Howlett sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Howlett just misses with a punch to the body.
LeBeau takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Howlett throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
LeBeau uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Howlett.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
