Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Riku Reipas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pejro Karesky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Riku Reipas!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pejro Karesky!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid body kick from Karesky.
Reipas throws a jab when Karesky was well out of range.
Karesky thinks about the counter body kick.
A right-left combo lands from Karesky.
A bone on bone clash there as Reipas blocks the leg kick.
Pejro Karesky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reipas swats away the attempt to clinch by Karesky.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Karesky takes the fight into the clinch.
Reipas is trying to pull guard but Karesky turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.

Karesky creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Reipas's defenses.


It looks like Riku Reipas has been cut.
Reipas jumps guard but Karesky stands there with Reipas around his waist. Reipas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Riku Reipas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reipas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Karesky smiles and moves away.
Karesky's corner calls for a 1-2. Karesky obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Reipas takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Karesky slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Karesky throws a head kick but Reipas moves out of range.

Reipas attempts a counter takedown but Karesky avoids it well and moves away.
Karesky bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Reipas's head.

Karesky lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Karesky throws a low kick but Reipas moves out of range easily.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Karesky lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Karesky looks to score with a jab to the body but Reipas is just out of range.
Karesky has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Karesky throws a front kick that sends Reipas stumbling back into the ropes.
Reipas avoids a kick to the body.
Karesky misses with a head kick.
Reipas feinted with a counter takedown.
A punch lands to the side of Reipas 's head but he takes it in his stride.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Karesky throws a quick inside leg kick.
Reipas will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Karesky takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Reipas stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Karesky.
Reipas tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Karesky is able to avoid easily.

Karesky tries to land a front kick but Reipas steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Karesky finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Karesky fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Reipas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Karesky with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Karesky swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Reipas counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Karesky!

Reipas has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Karesky!

Reipas goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Karesky is on top in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Reipas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Karesky's guard.

Reipas drops back, looking for a kneebar! Karesky looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Karesky looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Karesky!

Reipas is looking to reverse the position.
Karesky is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Reipas will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Karesky looks up at the clock and then as Reipas takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Karesky smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Reipas tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Karesky really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reipas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Karesky wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reipas keeps working.
Reipas is looking for a sweep.
Reipas is not content to let Karesky control the position.

Reipas tries to buck Karesky off but Karesky is having none of it.
Pejro Karesky is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Karesky wants to control but Reipas is keeping him busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Karesky will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Reipas walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Reipas feinted with a counter takedown.
Karesky throws a looping overhand right but Reipas ducks down to avoid it.
Reipas attempts a counter takedown but Karesky avoids it well and moves away.
Karesky connects with an inside leg kick.
Reipas takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Karesky swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Reipas.
Reipas stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Karesky.

Karesky lands a nice looking kick to the body. Reipas takes a step back to recover.
Riku Reipas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I've got Karesky winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
