Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tshering Wangchuck!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wangchuck closes the distance and clinches.
Wangchuck is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ukkeli is defending well for now.
Wangchuck using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ukkeli has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Ukkeli lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Wangchuck dodges an elbow strike from Ukkeli.
Wangchuck throws an elbow but it misses.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Wangchuck just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ukkeli's brow.
Wangchuck managing to block the knees to the body from Ukkeli.
Wangchuck misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ukkeli.
Wangchuck throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Wangchuck misses with a knee strike.
Ukkeli lands a shoulder strike.
Ukkeli avoids the elbow strike from Wangchuck, against the ropes.

Wangchuck lands an elbow just above Ukkeli 's eye.


It looks like Maximus Ukkeli has been cut.

Ukkeli breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wangchuck wants to clinch.

Wangchuck has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ukkeli is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Ukkeli thuds his right hand into Wangchuck's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Ukkeli avoids a kick to the body.
Wangchuck doesn't manage to clinch there - Ukkeli circles away.
Wangchuck tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Ukkeli paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wangchuck is looking to clinch but Ukkeli is avoiding it.
Ukkeli blocks a head kick by Wangchuck.
Wangchuck throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
enabling Ukkeli to counter with a crisp jab.

Wangchuck closes the distance and pushes Ukkeli back into the ropes.
Ukkeli blocks the elbow strike.
Ukkeli lands a shot to the body.
Ukkeli lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Wangchuck backwards.
Wangchuck takes a shot to the head.
Ukkeli throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wangchuck tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Ukkeli avoids it.
Ukkeli lands with a short shot to the head.
Ukkeli managing to block the knees to the body from Wangchuck.
The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wangchuck looking to throw knees to the head but Ukkeli is blocking nicely.
Ukkeli lands an elbow inside that Wangchuck shrugs off.


It looks like Tshering Wangchuck has been cut.
Wangchuck tries to land a knee to the head but Ukkeli blocks with his arms.
Ukkeli misses with a punch to the body.
Wangchuck missing with knees to the body.
Ukkeli with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Ukkeli fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Ukkeli manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wangchuck looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wangchuck tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Ukkeli manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ukkeli paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Wangchuck uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ukkeli.
Wangchuck tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Ukkeli throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Wangchuck is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the ropes! Wow!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Maximus Ukkeli!
