Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Avalon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harri Mulqvist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Avalon might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Harder Better Faster - Daft Punk. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avalon lands a nice shot to the body.
Mulqvist pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Avalon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mulqvist to the mat! Mulqvist manages to get full guard.
Avalon wants to control from the top but Mulqvist keeps moving.
Avalon forces his way into half guard.
Avalon is thwarting Mulqvist's attempts to control the position.
Avalon passes the guard and advances to mount!
Mulqvist is trying to escape the mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Avalon goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mulqvist is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Avalon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mulqvist is working away from the top position though.

Avalon won't allow Mulqvist to pass to mount.

Avalon is working to get back to half guard.
Avalon squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Avalon is wriggling around trying to escape.
Avalon is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Mulqvist tries to control but Avalon wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mulqvist swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Avalon is now in Mulqvist's guard. A big mistake from Mulqvist there, giving up the dominant position!

Mulqvist working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Avalon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Avalon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Avalon wants to pass the guard but Mulqvist is keeping the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that James Avalon will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Avalon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mulqvist on his heels. He'll look to pass Mulqvist's guard now, I'm sure.

Mulqvist gets cracked there but stands up to it.

letting Mulqvist counter with a right hand.

It looks like James Avalon has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Avalon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Avalon walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Avalon thows a leg kick but Mulqvist checks it
and Mulqvist counters with a nice leg kick.
Mulqvist lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Avalon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mulqvist.
Mulqvist works the jab nicely.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Avalon lands with a shot to the body.

Mulqvist uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Avalon.
Mulqvist is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Avalon with a body shot.
Mulqvist misses with a kick to the body.
Avalon misses with a looping left.
The fighters circling - Avalon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Avalon rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mulqvist counters with a stiff right hand.
Mulqvist connects with a right that clearly hurt Avalon. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Mulqvist proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Avalon collapses and taps out under the pressure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Harri Mulqvist!
