Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chin Checker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Checker comes to the cage accompanied by Time to Fight. On his way into the cage it seems that Chin Checker has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Chin Checker seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chin Checker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Rogers! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rogers. Checker connects with a body shot. Rogers dives in for a single leg takedown but Checker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Chin Checker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Rogers. Checker throws an overhand right that lands on Rogers's shoulder, as Rogers tries to avoid the shot. The fighters circling - Checker throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Checker fails to land with a series of punches.
Checker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rogers. Checker gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Checker is looking to stand up but Rogers isn't so interested in that idea. Rogers scoring with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Checker trying to control the position.
My spies in LOD: Stockton Cardio inform me that Rogers has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Rogers drops back looking for a leg! Checker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Checker manages to kick Rogers off! Rogers jumps back into Checker's guard. Checker being controlled here, momentarily. Checker is trying to keep Rogers in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rogers cracks Checker with a solid left hand. Rogers wants to control from the top but Checker keeps moving. Rogers tries to free his leg and advance position but Checker is retaining full guard. Rogers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Checker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rogers is controlling him. Rogers is working Checker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Rogers prevents Checker from getting back to his feet. Rogers chips away with some ground and pound. Rogers won't allow Checker to get back to his feet. Checker not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rogers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rogers postures up in Checker's guard and throws a big left but Checker blocks it. Rogers tries to free his leg and advance position but Checker is retaining full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Checker lands a nice looking body shot.
Rogers fails with a takedown attempt. Checker takes a swing at Rogers's ribcage but misses. Rogers dives in and grabs Checker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Checker pushes down on Rogers's head and hops out. A looping hook to the body misses from Checker. Rogers does a little dance to reset his feet. Rogers takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Checker connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rogers. Rogers circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Rogers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Checker as he jumps to the side. Checker just misses with a punch to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogers decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rogers thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Rogers is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Rogers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rogers not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rogers landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Rogers is nestled in close to Checker, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Rogers scoring with strikes to the body and head. Rogers throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rogers thows a huge punch but Checker dodges it nicely.
Rogers is looking for a kimura here.
Checker wants to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Sam Rogers will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Checker looks to land a right hand but Rogers moved out of range. Checker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rogers manages to avoid it. Checker misses with a hook. And Rogers tries to counter it with a takedown but Checker pushes his down on his head and steps out. Checker tried to score with a low kick but Rogers checks it. Checker stuns Rogers with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Checker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rogers was well out of range. Poor timing from Checker. Rogers avoids the body shot from Checker.
Rogers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Rogers keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rogers shoots in and drives through. Checker sprawls well. Checker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rogers dives in and grabs Checker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Checker pushes down on Rogers's head and hops out. Checker lands with a straight right. Rogers didn't see that one coming. Rogers fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. We've been told by Checker's head coaches at Roosters Coop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Chin Checker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Rogers. Checker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rogers.
That's one minute gone in the round. Checker leaves Rogers with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Checker throws a series of punches but Rogers moves out of range. Rogers needs to keep his hands up - Checker had a free shot at his head there. Checker tests Rogers's chin there with a solid looking shot. Checker misses with a double jab
and Rogers counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Rogers not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rogers is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Checker is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sam Rogers! Sam Rogers tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
