Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oko Poli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dock Jeffries!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jeffries swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Poli counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jeffries won't be happy with that.
Jeffries is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jeffries seems a little lost for a moment, as Poli dominates the positioning.
Poli trying to control the action but Jeffries is working from the bottom.

Poli working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Jeffries wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Poli has hold of Jeffries's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Jeffries tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Poli cranks the arm and Jeffries screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Jeffries, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Oko Poli!
Oko Poli decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
