Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ian Pathos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mikiya Hayashida! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hayashida connects with a body shot that sends Pathos's belly button to the back. Hayashida takes one on the button. Hayashida swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pathos half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Hayashida delivers a nice body kick. Good leg kick by Hayashida there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A thudding body kick lands there by Hayashida!
Pathos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Pathos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hayashida tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hayashida scores with a head kick.

This has been an exciting period of action! Pathos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hayashida's waist but Hayashida gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pathos off to one side. Hayashida slips under a jab from Pathos. Hayashida scores with a slapping inside leg kick. We've been hearing reports that Pathos has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A chopping leg kick lands by Hayashida. A slapping leg kick lands for Hayashida.
Hayashida throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hayashida throws a sloppy head kick and Pathos moves out of range easily. Pathos keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pathos swings for the body but Hayashida moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hayashida tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hayashida throws a sloppy head kick so Pathos counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hayashida wants to stand and escape but Pathos is having none of it. Pathos trying to control but Hayashida is working from the bottom. Pathos is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Pathos wants to control from the top but Hayashida keeps moving. Hayashida wants to get back to his feet but Pathos is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Pathos scoring with some ground and pound. Pathos postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Hayashida covers up, he's hurt! Pathos keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Pathos and the ref steps in to end the fight! Pathos can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ian Pathos seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
