Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pit Mies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mies kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Condemned 84 - Face the agression. Souza comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Los Porongas - Silêncio kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! David Souza has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mies gets caught napping as Souza dives in and scores a takedown. Mies manages to retain guard.

Souza thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Mies manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Souza manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Souza wants to stand up but Mies is controlling him.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Souza is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mies defends well.
Mies has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Souza is proving hard to escape from.
Mies throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Souza works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Souza controls Mies momentarily but Mies frees himself.

Mies throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Souza tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mies is in Souza's guard.
Mies stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Souza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mies working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Souza's head.
Souza wants to sweep here but Mies controlling him for the moment.
Mies is looking to pass into half guard but Souza pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Souza is in guard.

And Souza tries to counter it with a takedown but Mies pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Souza throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mies.

and Souza counters with a series of strikes. Mies will be more careful next time no doubt.

Souza looking to score a takedown here. Mies is defending well but Souza drives through and ends up in Mies's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Souza has gone for a leg lock! Mies slips out almost immediately though and dives into Souza's guard.
Souza keeping moving, preventing Mies from controlling successfully.
Mies is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Souza is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Souza throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mies escapes and throws Souza's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Mies scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Souza to see if he's OK.
Mies wants to lay and pray for a moment but Souza keeps working.
Souza wants to control but Mies postures up.
Sloppy strikes there by Mies.
Souza manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Souza seems to be looking for submissions.
Mies works his way to full guard. Good work.

Mies will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Souza controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Souza drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mies dives on top into guard.

Mies stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Souza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Souza is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Souza escapes and gets back to his feet.
Mies misses with a straight left.

Souza stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Souza wants it to stay on the feet.
Souza thumps Mies with a low kick.
Souza shoots in for a takedown but Mies shows good takedown defense.
Mies clinches up against the ropes.
Mies tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Mies has a couple of punches blocked by Souza.
Mies tries a body shot but Souza blocks it.
Mies is trying to pull guard but Souza has him pressed against the ropes.
Mies is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Souza pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Mies tries to work over Souza's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Mies could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mies misses with some punches.
Mies tries to circle away but Souza has him pinned against the ropes.

Souza throws an elbow that misses. Mies uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Souza's guard. Nice move by Mies!
Mies wants to stand but Souza is controlling his posture from full guard.
Souza looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mies postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Souza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mies, into his guard.
Souza sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mies's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Souza showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mies tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Souza swivels and escapes.
Souza closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mies did well to prevent Souza getting side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Pit Mies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Souza scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Souza is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Mies is tapping out! This one is all over!
