Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Irvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renan Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renan Da Silva! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Irvin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Irvin tries to clinch there but Da Silva circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Irvin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Da Silva looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Irvin moves into the clinch successfully.

Da Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Irvin defends it easily. Da Silva working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Irvin has passed into half guard!
Irvin tries to stand and escape but Da Silva is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Da Silva tries to get to full guard but Irvin has control of the leg. Irvin wants to get back to his feet.
Da Silva is trying to maintain the position but Irvin is very close to passing his half guard. Irvin tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Da Silva.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Irvin fails in his attempt to clinch. Irvin fails with an attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Irvin dominated that round. The cut man is working on Renan Da Silva's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Da Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Irvin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Irvin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Da Silva, pushing him back against the ropes. Da Silva on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
