Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kermit Earlandson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Roofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Earlandson comes to the cage accompanied by the theme from titanic. Roofer is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Jonesmann Feat. Azad - Der Soldat James Rhyme. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

21 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kermit Earlandson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Roofer! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Earlandson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Earlandson fails to land the takedown. Roofer throws a leg kick but Earlandson sees it coming and moves out of range. Earlandson shoots for a double leg takedown but Roofer sprawls well. He's pushed Earlandson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kermit Earlandson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Earlandson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Roofer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Earlandson is in Roofer's guard. Roofer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Earlandson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Earlandson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Roofer misses with a body kick. Earlandson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Roofer did well to prevent Earlandson getting side control. Roofer moves into full guard.

But no, Roofer has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Earlandson but great work by Roofer. Earlandson regains half guard. Roofer uses his free foot to push down on Earlandson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Earlandson. Earlandson can't escape the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Earlandson tries to hold on but Roofer postures up. Earlandson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Earlandson is not content to let Roofer control the position. Earlandson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Earlandson has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! Roofer is looking to take a break and control but Earlandson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Roofer working away. A quick step to the side and Earlandson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Earlandson shoots in but Roofer avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ben Roofer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Earlandson seems to have got his legs back now.

He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Roofer throws the kick towards the body but Earlandson avoids it. Earlandson shoots in looking for a takedown. Earlandson is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
