Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stanton Crowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Worrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crowe comes to the cage accompanied by The Builders & The Butchers - Bringing Home The Rain. Worrell comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Feuer Frei by Rammstein kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stanton Crowe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Worrell!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been hearing that Crowe has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Crowe wants to control from the top but Worrell keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Worrell has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Crowe throws a combination that misses
and Worrell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Crowe lands with an uppercut that bounces Worrell off the cage and back into range.
Crowe avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Crowe misses with a looping right.
Worrell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Worrell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Crowe.
Crowe throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Worrell sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Crowe avoids the body shot from Worrell.
Worrell uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Crowe.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Worrell crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Crowe - the referee stops the clock and Worrell gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Crowe. Worrell manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Worrell ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Worrell throws a lazy right hand but Crowe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

so Crowe counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Crowe trying to control but Worrell is working from the bottom.

Worrell wants to stand and escape but Crowe is having none of it.
Crowe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Crowe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Worrell is keeping the position for now.
Crowe slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Crowe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Worrell has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Crowe is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Worrell tries to work over Crowe's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Crowe tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Worrell's elbow.

Crowe lands with a short punch from the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Crowe.

Crowe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Worrell swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Crowe.
Worrell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Crowe.
Good leg kick by Crowe there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Worrell avoids a kick to the body.
Worrell looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Crowe bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Worrell's head.

Crowe changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Crowe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Worrell looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Crowe dives in for a single leg takedown but Worrell sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stanton Crowe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

It looks like Peter Worrell has been cut.
Worrell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Crowe.
Worrell doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Worrell ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stanton Crowe dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Worrell bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Crowe's head.
Worrell has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Crowe looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Crowe throws a leg kick but Worrell sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Crowe connects with a single shot there.
Crowe catches Worrell with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Worrell counters with a head kick. That will keep Crowe thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Crowe looks to land a combination but Worrell avoids it well.
Worrell throws a sloppy head kick and Crowe moves out of range easily.
Crowe motions for Worrell to come forward. Crowe throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crowe throws a body shot but no joy.
Worrell is looking for the big counter here.
Crowe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Worrell manages to avoid it.
Stanton Crowe is winning the standup battle so far.
Crowe misses with a straight left.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Worrell! But no joy.
Worrell steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Crowe.
Worrell swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Worrell throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Crowe throws a low kick but Worrell avoids it.
Crowe looks to land a right hand but Worrell moved out of range.
Crowe throws a lazy right hand but Worrell sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Crowe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Worrell closes the distance and pushes Crowe back into the cage.

Crowe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Worrell tries to clinch up but Crowe circles away and keeps his distance.
Crowe attempts a counter takedown but Worrell avoids it well and moves away.
Worrell takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Worrell! But no joy.
Crowe fails to land with a series of punches.
Crowe shoots in looking for a takedown. Worrell tries to sprawl out of it but Crowe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Worrell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Nice straight punches there by Crowe. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Crowe.
Crowe thows a body kick. Worrell tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Crowe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Worrell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Crowe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Worrell is looking to stand up but Crowe isn't so interested in that idea.
Crowe wants to control from the top but Worrell keeps moving.

Worrell steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Crowe.

Worrell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Worrell wants it to stay on the feet.

Crowe looks to land a body kick but Worrell moved away.

Worrell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Crowe.
Crowe is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Crowe shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Worrell's guard.
Worrell wants to get back to his feet but Crowe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Worrell is trying to stand up here but Crowe is controlling him well.
Crowe is nestled in close to Worrell, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Worrell wants to get back to his feet.
Crowe content to control rather than advance.
Crowe is looking to advance position but Worrell won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Crowe is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Stanton Crowe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Worrell is trying to maintain the position but Crowe is very close to passing his half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Well Crowe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
