Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Castillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Molloy!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Molloy misses with a series of wild punches.

Molloy looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Molloy looking to sit in guard and control but Castillo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Molloy is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Castillo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Castillo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Molloy is looking for a triangle but Castillo pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Castillo wants to stand but Molloy is controlling his posture from full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Molloy trying to keep a closed guard but Castillo is proving a slippery customer.
Castillo won't allow Molloy to get back to his feet.
Castillo wants to get up but he can't break Molloy's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Molloy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Castillo plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Mark Molloy has been cut.

Molloy shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Castillo is refusing to be controlled, as Molloy sits in half guard.
Castillo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Molloy with the ground and pound but Castillo uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Molloy tries to free his leg and advance position but Castillo is retaining full guard.
Molloy looking to sit in guard and control but Castillo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Molloy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Castillo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Castillo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Molloy.
Castillo slaps away a takedown attempt from Molloy, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Castillo attempts a counter takedown but Molloy avoids it well and moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mark Molloy will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Molloy misses with a low kick as Castillo jumps back.

Molloy rushes Castillo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Molloy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Molloy is looking to break free of the clinch but Castillo has double underhooks.
Castillo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Molloy has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That has opened up Mark Molloy's cut even more.
Molloy fails to pull guard.
Molloy tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Castillo smiles and moves away.
Castillo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Molloy can do to turn this around?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Molloy drops his hands momentarily and Castillo needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Molloy just on the top of the head. Molloy drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Molloy - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Joe Castillo!
