Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, John Roberts and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Gerald looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Armstrong looking to pass the guard.
Armstrong avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Armstrong got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gerald has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Armstrong has managed to get both his arms back between Gerald's legs - danger averted.
Gerald is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Armstrong defends well.
Armstrong wants to control from the top but Gerald keeps moving.
Gerald working for submissions but it's allowed Armstrong to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gerald is looking to escape.
Gerald is not content to let Armstrong control the position.
Armstrong is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gerald defends it well.
Armstrong is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Gerald tries to get to full guard but Armstrong has control of the leg.
Gerald is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Armstrong pulls his head out easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gerald is not content to let Armstrong control the position.
Gerald has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Armstrong. Oh but Gerald has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Armstrong goes limp - he's gone! Gerald jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Shane Gerald decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
