Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Dengel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas comes to the cage accompanied by Muse - Knights of Cydonia. The crowd seem to be enjoying Dengel's choice of entrance music: Godlike. Steve Dengel will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Dengel! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas shoots in looking for a takedown. Dengel tries to sprawl out of it but Thomas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dengel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Dengel wants to clinch up but Thomas keeps it at a distance. Dengel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Thomas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dengel's guard. Dengel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Thomas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thomas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dengel is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dengel is looking to stand up but Thomas isn't so interested in that idea. Thomas advances to half guard. Thomas stops Dengel from getting back to his feet.
Thomas seems to be looking for submissions.
Dengel is looking for a sweep. Thomas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dengel looks like he's trying to stand up.
Thomas is thwarting Dengel's attempts to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dengel pushes Thomas off looking to stand but Thomas dives back in and keeps control.
Dengel looks gassed! Dengel is looking to control Thomas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dengel avoid being mounted? Thomas is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Dengel has managed to free his arm - good work. Dengel is trying to stand up here but Thomas is controlling him well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dengel wants to get back to full guard but Thomas has mounted him! Thomas is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Dengel is forced to tap! Great finish!
