Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ares Constantinides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Constantinides comes to the cage accompanied by I stand alone. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping body kick lands there for Thompson.
Constantinides takes a jab right on the kisser.
Thompson misses with an uppercut.
A little feinted left hand from Constantinides on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thompson. Constantinides does a little dance to reset his feet.
Constantinides appears to be looking for a big counter.
Constantinides tries a head kick but it misses.
Constantinides misses with a jab, cross combination.
Constantinides misses with a body kick.
Thompson cracks a nice hook into Constantinides's ribs.
Thompson misses with a two punch combination.
Constantinides throws a shot from downtown. Thompson moves away and avoids it.
Thompson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Constantinides tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thompson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

enabling Thompson to counter with a crisp jab.
Constantinides tries to clinch but Thompson moves out of range.
Thompson lands a jab to the nose.

Constantinides throws a leg kick but Thompson moved away.
Constantinides keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Constantinides jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Thompson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Constantinides has Thompson up against the cage in a clinch.
Constantinides goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A short body shot lands from Constantinides as the two fighters clinch.
Thompson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Constantinides is trying to drag Thompson to the mat but Thompson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Constantinides pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Thompson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Thompson lands with an uppercut that bounces Constantinides off the cage and back into range.
Constantinides fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thompson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Thompson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Constantinides is looking to clinch.
Constantinides throws a leg kick but Thompson checks it.
Constantinides definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Constantinides drops his hands momentarily and Thompson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Thompson walks into a stiff left hand from Constantinides.
Constantinides closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Constantinides moves in looking to clinch but Thompson pushes him off.
Thompson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Constantinides counters with an inside leg kick.
Thompson gets off balance looking for a body kick
enabling Constantinides to counter with a crisp jab.
Constantinides ducks under a wild hook from Thompson.
Thompson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Constantinides circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Constantinides wants the takedown. Thompson is fighting it off but Constantinides persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Thompson's guard against the cage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Constantinides with a flurry of punches that miss.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Constantinides accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Thompson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Thompson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Constantinides doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Thompson is tightening it up a little... Constantinides has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Constantinides reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Constantinides taps out! Nice BJJ there by Thompson!
