Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Leary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leary has chosen Dangermouse as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, George Stewart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Leary!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leary tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stewart swivels and escapes.
Stewart has his takedown stuffed

and Leary counters with a shoot takedown. Stewart fights it but they end up in guard.
Leary trying to control but Stewart is working from the bottom.
Leary looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leary won't allow Stewart to get back to his feet.
Leary passes Stewart's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Stewart tries to get to full guard but Leary has control of the leg.

Leary is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stewart defends it well.
Stewart tries to roll over but Leary keeps him under control.

Leary is keen to just control but Stewart is a slippery customer.

Leary is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Stewart has managed to free his arm - good work.

Leary is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stewart doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Leary.
Leary wants to take a breather but Stewart is having none of it.
Stewart really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Leary works his way into side control.
Stewart is trying to improve his position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Stewart is working hard here to advance position.

Leary tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Leary has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Stewart is not content to let Leary control the position.
Leary throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Leary trying to control the action but Stewart is working from the bottom.

Leary decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Leary is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Leary throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stewart sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Stewart tries to close the distance and clinch but Leary swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Horrible takedown by Leary or perhaps it was just good defense by Stewart which made him look bad.
Stewart tries to score with a low kick but Leary moves his leg out of the way.
Stewart doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Leary counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Stewart!
Leary thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Stewart is trying to stand up.
Leary sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Stewart is looking to get to half guard.

Leary has control of Stewart's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Stewart regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Leary looks gassed!

Leary is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Leary changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stewart looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Stewart tries to bench press Leary off him but Leary keeps the position.
Leary tries to move into full mount but can't pass Stewart's legs.

Leary looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Leary throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Stewart tries to close the distance and clinch but Leary swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Leary shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Leary trying to control but Stewart is having none of it.
Stewart is working to get back to half guard.
Stewart wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Stewart defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Leary.
Stewart is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Stewart throwing hammer fists to the chest of Leary. What's that going to do exactly?

Leary working for a guillotine from mount but Stewart is in no mood to give up.
Leary seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Stewart is holding on tight.
Leary is breathing heavily.
Stewart can't escape the position.
Stewart swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Leary trying to control but Stewart is having none of it.
Stewart wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stewart is desperately trying to improve his position but Leary has a good base and remains in mount.

Leary wants to finish this one by submission but Stewart is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Leary.
Stewart is in all sorts of trouble here.
Leary controlling from mount.
Stewart squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leary throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Stewart because Leary loaded up on that one.

Leary is working for a guillotine from mount but Stewart frees his head quite easily.
Stewart is looking to improve his position but Leary isn't that keen on the idea.

Leary working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Stewart swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Stewart tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mark Leary has got the better of the ground game so far.
Stewart wants to try and get back to his feet.

Leary stands up from mount. Strange move.

Leary feints and as Stewart raises his hands in defense, Leary changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Leary wants to control from the top but Stewart keeps moving.
Leary preventing the sweep.
Leary trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Stewart trying to control the position.
Leary stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stewart swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Leary thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Stewart.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Leary showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Stewart wants to clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Leary counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
