Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demarcus Potts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brunos Da Capo! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Da Capo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Da Capo showed some decent athleticism there. Da Capo decides to stand up. Potts fails with the takedown. Da Capo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Potts is trying to defend but Da Capo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Da Capo thows a huge punch but Potts dodges it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Da Capo with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Da Capo is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Da Capo content just to control the position here. Da Capo looking to ground and pound but Potts is blocking nicely. Da Capo is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Potts is surviving well by controlling Da Capo's body position as best he can. Da Capo controlling from the full mount. Da Capo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Potts's face.
Da Capo controlling from mount. Potts tries to hold on but Da Capo postures up. Potts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Da Capo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Potts is looking to escape. Potts wants to hold on but Da Capo pushes him away. BOOM! Da Capo connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Potts is squirming around, avoiding Da Capo's attempts to control the action. Potts knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Da Capo on the ground. Da Capo avoids the attempt from Potts to control. Da Capo wants to get back to his feet but Potts is holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Da Capo controlling the position easily from mount. Da Capo trying to control but he's not successful this time. Potts is working to get back to half guard.
Da Capo punishing his opponent with strikes. Da Capo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Potts is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Potts wants to hold on but Da Capo pushes him away. Da Capo postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Potts bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Da Capo and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brunos Da Capo!
