Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between PATRICK LUIZ DIAS (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Faria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Faria has chosen Quiribamba as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, PATRICK LUIZ DIAS! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Faria! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DIAS fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Faria. Faria fails to land the takedown. Faria decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Faria is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Faria is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so DIAS is just riding it out for now. Faria eventually gives up the hold. DIAS wants to get back to his feet.
Faria wants to work for an arm triangle but DIAS is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Faria is trying to work for a kimura but DIAS is defending well.
DIAS is looking to control Faria's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can DIAS avoid being mounted? DIAS is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Faria prevents DIAS from improving his position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. DIAS closes the distance and clinches. DIAS pulls guard. Faria drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but DIAS manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Faria has DIAS in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. DIAS cracks Faria with a solid left hand. DIAS trying to control the position from guard on top but Faria is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. DIAS gets to his feet - Faria follows without any prompting. Faria fails miserably with a takedown attempt. DIAS instigates a clinch. DIAS pulls Faria into guard.

Faria postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! DIAS is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Faria, into his guard. Faria working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because DIAS has passed into half guard!
That's three minutes gone in the round. DIAS keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Faria actively working from the bottom here. DIAS tries to pass to full mount but Faria defends it. DIAS is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Faria! DIAS landing shots from mount. DIAS scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. DIAS lands a heavy elbow. Faria sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. DIAS decides to stand up. DIAS misses with a takedown attempt - Faria sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Faria shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and DIAS counters by moving into the clinch. PATRICK LUIZ DIAS has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felipe Faria. Faria is trying to work for a single leg takedown but DIAS pulls him back up using the underhooks. Faria gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from DIAS.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
PATRICK LUIZ DIAS dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Faria looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. DIAS wants to control but Faria is keeping busy.
Faria has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can DIAS defend it? Faria steps over the head and cranks it - DIAS is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Faria!
